StockWatch AI (provided by StockWatch Labs)
StockWatch Labs ("we", "us") respects the privacy of everyone who uses the StockWatch AI app ("the app") and is committed to protecting personal information. This policy explains how information is handled in the app.
2.1 Information you provide
2.2 Information collected automatically
The app does not collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address or phone number. It does collect the following automatically:
We use the information we handle only for the following purposes:
The app uses the third-party services listed below. Please also review each service's own privacy policy.
In version 2.8 and later, when the app generates an AI summary, stock analysis or investment-hypothesis question, it sends the information needed for that request to our AWS API. This can include the selected ticker, prices and metrics, news headlines and summaries, filing information, AI settings and hypothesis text you entered. A Firebase anonymous ID token is also sent to authenticate the request. Generation runs on Amazon Bedrock in AWS. In version 2.7 and earlier, AI generation sends relevant prices, news headlines and summaries, or hypothesis text you entered, to the OpenAI API. The app does not automatically send your name or email address to the AI service, but information you include in your own text is sent. Price sources receive the ticker you are viewing; news sources receive the ticker, company name and search language.
From version 2.0, news, earnings dates, company logos and extended-hours quotes for US stocks are fetched by our server and stored in Firebase; the app only reads them. Your device no longer communicates directly with:
These services can no longer see which stocks you are viewing. Our server fetches data using the combined list of stocks followed by all users, and does not send information about who follows which stock.
Filings that US companies submit to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are retrieved from the SEC's EDGAR system by our server, summarized, and stored in Firebase. This happens on a schedule, independently of anything you do in the app, so the SEC does not receive information about your activity.
Your watchlist and AI settings are stored on your device (in UserDefaults).
In addition, to the extent needed to deliver push notifications, the following is stored in Firebase (Cloud Firestore) against your anonymous user ID:
Nothing beyond the above is stored. It contains no name, email address or other information that directly identifies you.
Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.
The information held in Firebase (your anonymous user ID, ticker symbols, FCM token, notification preferences and language settings) remains on the server after the app is deleted. If you would like it removed, please contact us using the details in section 9. We will delete it within a reasonable period of your request.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy as needed. If a change is significant, we will announce it in the app or on this page.
